We have been shopping for a Class A for a few weeks. We have been to several dealers, looking for a particular layout. Currently we are full timers in a 36CKTS Cedar Creek 5th wheel. While talking to our neighbors, they told us about Lazydays in Tampa. We were told of the great service, sales, facilities and selection available there. So, we decided to drive down on a Saturday.

We drove about 3 hours to get there. We called when we were about 2.5 hours out and talked to a sales rep. We sent him an email with our list of wants for a Class A.

When we arrived, we found out that they were having a 40th birthday party for the business. It was very busy and there was a lot of extra stuff there. The sales rep that we had talked to was busy with some other customers, so we were passed on to another rep (this is fine and did not bother us). We gave the new guy our list of wants as well as talking to him to give him a good idea of what we are looking for.

The new rep pretty much turned us off of the RV dealership. We have a few non negotiable wants in our RV. One of them is that the TV is straight across from the main seating (whoever thought sitting on a couch and turning sideways to watch a tv was a good idea needs to be flogged). He kept taking us to RVs with this type of a layout (turn sideways to see the tv). I can understand that he does not have every floor plan memorized and we are going to walk into the RV and see that some are not what we want. The problem was his attitude.

After about the 3rd RV that was not what we were looking for, he started to come across with the attitude of 'come on already, pick an RV that you like and buy it so that I can move on!'.

My wife had told him of 2 specific Class As that she has seen on the web site that she wanted to look at. He told her that he would take us to them. After looking at about 6 Class A motorhomes, he told us that he did not have any more floor plans that might be what we were looking for. We were both so irritated with him by this point that we no longer cared what Lazydays had, we just wanted to leave. He never did take us to the 2 that my wife had told him about.

Hopefully someone from Lazydays will read this. From my perspective, it is a lot of money for me to spend a quarter of a million dollars on a Class A. I am not going to settle on some things that I want in this. It is like buying a house for us. We recognize that finding exactly what we want may be impossible and we are willing to compromise on some things. Our list of must haves is actually pretty small (induction stove, great AC, residential fridge, tv across from main chairs, an office desk or place to put one......that is it). If that kind of a list is enough to make a salesman get all mad, then a sales job is probably not where this guy should be.
