Lazydays Rv Center - Lazy Days Seffner, Florida customer service
On June 11, 2016 my husband, daughter and I went to Lazy Days in Seffner, Florida to peruse their inventory of 2016 Forest River Georgetown XL 378TS motor homes. They had one (1) in stock. We left the lot and returned on August 20, 2016 to discuss the purchase of said motor home. Our Sales Rep was Kelly Brantley. My husband and I had read reviews regarding Lazy Days in Seffner, Florida and they were NOT positive review. Kelly stated that “Happy customers do not write reviews, only unhappy customers write them” . This seemed plausible and against our better judgment, a price for the RV was agreed upon and we left a deposit. Per Kelly’s request, we took pictures of all things that required repair in order for us to accept delivery. These pictures were emailed to Kelly on Monday, August 22, 2016. Kelly advised that our motor home would be “ready for delivery” at 11:00 am on Friday, August 26, 2016. She also requested that on Monday morning I call to schedule us for the confidence driving course on Friday, August 26, 2016.
We were advised, by Markle, to return on Monday, August 22, 2016 to pay for the RV and complete the paperwork. If the transaction was completed on Monday, August 22nd, Kelly would receive a bonus for the sale occurring over the weekend. As requested, we returned on Monday and completed everything.
We arrived at Lazy Days in Seffner, Florida at 8:40am on August 26th for the driving course at which time Kelly advised our RV would not be “ready for delivery” until 3:00pm that same day. This was acceptable as the driving class would not be completed until 3:00pm. We were to spend the night at Lazy Days Friday to become accustom to the RV and how to operate everything inside the coach. THE EMAIL THAT WAS SENT TO KELLY ON AUGUST 22ND LISTING ALL THE ISSUES WE NOTICED ON AUGUST 20TH WAS COMPLETELY IGNORED. NOTHING LISTED IN THE EMAIL WAS REPAIRED! A major repair needed that was on the list was the switch to move the driver’s seat was missing. The seat could not be moved; therefore, my husband could not even test drive the motor home. Friday evening Marro (sp) arrived at our coach and advised us that something was wrong with the tile and it all had to be replaced and all minor repairs would be completed. The tile was NOT in this condition when we inspected the vehicle the previous weekend. We advised her that the refrigerator did not work. She stated she would not be at work on Saturday; however Shawn would be covering her work. We contacted Shawn first thing Saturday morning and advised him about the refrigerator. My husband called him twice on Saturday and left voice mails inquiring as to the status of the refrigerator. Shawn finally returned the call and said that it was working correctly. Pedro did the “walk through” with my husband Friday night at which time my husband advised him that the refrigerator was not working properly and the hood latch was not working properly. Pedro noted that on his list that would be turned in to the Service Department. We did NOT receive delivery on Saturday (more excuses and lies), Sunday (more excuses and lies) NOR Monday (new excuses and lies). We have received nothing but excuses (i.e. Lazy Days has to receive authorization from Forest River to order new tile and replace it, Frigidaire has to repair the refrigerator as it is under warranty and they don’t know when Frigidaire will be able to check it, all issues sent in the email are minor and will be completed, etc) and we are being passed from one person to another.
Based on the original delivery date, our family booked our first reservations for this coming weekend. It was to be an exciting, memorable experience. IT HAS BEEN NOTHING SHORT OF A NIGHTMARE. We were even willing to accept delivery, take our mini vacation and return the RV to have the “minor” repairs completed. The driver’s seat was not repaired until Saturday afternoon after many, many requests to repair the seat were made. Had the refrigerator have been working, we would have taken the RV on vacation and returned it to Lazy Days for the minor repairs. In view of the fact that they don’t know when Frigidaire will be out, we have no option but to cancel all vacation plans.
This letter is to warn all potential RV purchasers DO NOT EVEN CONSIDER LAZY DAYS IN SEFFNER, FLORIDA. The reviews are correct – everyone is wonderful UNTIL THEY RECEIVE YOUR MONEY. I was in Customer Service for close to 50 years and I do NOT believe that customer service ends when the purchase is made. This is a major purchase that we have not been able to accept delivery on and are receiving nothing but excuses and lies.
I’m not certain if the same treatment would be rendered by Lazy Days if we were a younger couple. We are senior citizens; however, will not accept the treatment we are receiving from LAZY DAYS. We are thoroughly disgusted with the treatment we have received and would like to warn all buyers (especially senior citizens) BEWARE of Lazy Days in Seffner, Florida. We will get our coach repaired to our satisfaction. The longer it takes, hopefully, the more people will read this and steer away from Lazy Days. If this review prevents only one family from purchasing an RV from Lazy Days so they do not have to experience the “run around” we have received, it was worth the time to write this. This review will be listed on Facebook, Yelp and Lazy Days website. A copy will also be sent to Attorney General Pam Bondi and Governor Rick Scott (I believe this treatment is due to the fact that we are senior citizens). Hopefully, they can assist us in finalizing this matter. Thank you for taking the time to read this.
